The Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) is a not-for-profit knowledge and expertise organization for sustainable development and intercultural cooperation. KIT has been housed since 1926 in a monumental building on Amsterdam’s Mauritskade. A large part of the proceeds – including those from KIT Conferences & Events – go to knowledge projects regarding sustainable, economic, social and organizational changes and healthcare.

Besides that, KIT has a Hospitality service. The beautiful halls in a monumental building are open to rent for Conferences & Events. Café De Tropen and Amsterdam Tropen Hotel are also a part of KIT.
